F-35

The F-35, also known as the Joint Strike Fighter, is a family of stealth multirole fighters developed by Lockheed Martin. It is designed to perform various roles including air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strike, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. The F-35 is notable for its advanced avionics, sensor fusion capabilities, and low observable (stealth) technology, which reduces its radar signature. It comes in three variants: the F-35A for conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL), the F-35B for short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL), and the F-35C for aircraft carrier operations with larger wings and stronger landing gear. The aircraft is intended to be a key component of the US and allied air forces, enhancing combat capabilities while providing interoperability among different military branches and allied nations. The F-35 program represents one of the most expensive military procurement programs in history, with significant investment aimed at modernization and joint operations.
